About SLAB
Student-Led Architecture & Building
SLAB is a student-powered outreach program bringing design, building, and leadership opportunities to K–12 classrooms through fun, hands-on projects led by University of Washington Construction Management and Architecture students. We believe early exposure to the built environment can inspire the next generation of creators, builders, and leaders.
Our Vision
Our vision is a future where every student, regardless of background, has the opportunity to shape their world. We believe that by putting tools—both physical and conceptual—into the hands of young learners, we empower them to see themselves as creators, problem-solvers, and leaders. We aim to demystify the fields of architecture and construction, making them accessible and exciting pathways for the next generation.
Our Programs
From single-day creative sessions for elementary students to multi-week design-build projects for high schoolers, our programs are designed to be flexible, safe, and impactful.
